Seizures in Sleeps

I started having seizures in my sleep when I was 13 years old. Yes they are terrifying. It is rare that they’ll kill someone but it is possible. I wanted to share some tips on how to prevent them from being deadly or what’s helped me over the years.

1- find medications that’ll work for you. If your taking a certain medication that doesn’t work, try another. It took my doctors a few different medications before I found a combination that works.

Tegertol and Keppra have worked the best for me.

2nd Make sure, you don’t have anything near your head at night. (Blankets, night stands)

3- Try to relax before you go to sleep. Trust me I know having seizures in your sleep can make your anxiety levels high before bed. But find something to take your mind off seizures. I personally watch movies and Pray.

It’s been a Few Days- No Seizures But…

Last Night was the first night, I didn’t take any seizure (Tegertol and Keppra) medications. I had zero seizures however I woke up extremely dizzy and nausea. I think I’m starting to feel the withdrawal effects from them. I knew that was a possibility.’

I’m now taking .5 Milliagrams of 300 CBD oil, 2 omega Fish Oil. Along with my anxiety medications Buspar and Zoloft.

Tapering Off My Seizure Medications

Last night was the first night I started to tapper off of my medications.

Last Night I only took two Tegertols and 1 half Keppra.

Since I knew my anxiety was going to be very high I took two extra Buspar so it would help my anxiety. I also took 3 Fish Oil Omega

Today my dad went an bought me a bottle of CDB oil and one for my grandma (she has dementia) so I won’t be using something she really needs)

I’ll write more about how tonight goes, almost all of my bad seizures happen in my sleep. So that’s why nighttime is my biggest concern as my seizure medications leave my system but I’m trying to stay positive
